Tachyum CEO Rado Danilak to discuss the rapid spread of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High Performance Computing (HPC) as a keynote speaker at the Slovakia Tech Forum Conference

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 5, 2018 – Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Co-founder and CEO of Silicon Valley startup Tachyum Inc. will be a keynote speaker at the Slovakia Tech Forum conference held on November 8-9 in Kosice, Slovakia. Dr. Danilak will talk about the development of the Prodigy processor that has been designed by Tachyum as the latest generation technology to dramatically improve speed, performance and energy consumption for cloud data centers. The Prodigy chip will also make possible a rapid spread of low cost Artificial Intelligence (AI) and High Performance Computing (HPC) technology among new business users and consumers.

In preparation for the conference, Dr. Danilak had a discussion on TA3, Slovak Business TV Channel, about the current trends and future prospects for the computer industry. He outlined how the EU in general, and Slovakia in particular, have fallen behind the U.S. and China in the development of the latest computer technologies. This has led to a brain drain, with talented people leaving to seek opportunities abroad.

Dr. Danilak has worked in Silicon Valley for 20 years and founded two successful computer chip and storage companies before starting Tachyum in 2016. In the last two decades, the conditions in Slovakia have improved dramatically, and today it is a much more attractive place to do business. Dr. Danilak commented on the improvement of the quality of life in Slovakia and said that today it is in many ways comparable to California. That has created opportunities for talented IT people to work in Slovakia to help develop its own IT industrial sector.

It is estimated that in the next few decades approximately 50 percent of EU GDP growth will be driven by computer technologies (source: Forbes). Slovakia urgently needs to diversify its economic base that is currently heavily dependent on automobile manufacturing. The semiconductor and AI industries can create an ecosystem of related businesses with opportunities to develop new IT systems based on the Prodigy processor technology. This is a unique opportunity to grow the economy, attract talented IT people to work in Slovakia, and help the EU achieve greater independence from the U.S. and China in these key technologies. In the last few years it has become apparent that the U.S. and the EU are in a more competitive mutual relationship. The EU needs to develop its own key products and skills to succeed in the accelerating global competition in the technology sector. The Prodigy chip from Tachyum and the technologies associated with it can be of enormous benefit in this process.

Slovakia Tech Forum is a unique technology conference that brings together tech entrepreneurs, academics and government leaders to present the latest developments in the high-tech industry in Slovakia and the EU.

Tachyum recently established a wholly owned subsidiary in Slovakia that will create an innovation ecosystem based on the enormous power and performance of the Prodigy processor. In particular, AI applications and the development of large data centers will benefit dramatically from this breakthrough product. Tachyum will offer an opportunity for people in Slovakia and the EU to work with the latest and most advanced designs for computer chips.
