Tachyum Named Winner of 2018 Red Herring Top 100 Global Award

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 20, 2018 – Tachyum Inc. was named a winner in the hardware sector category of the 2018 Red Herring Top 100 Global awards, which highlights the most exciting startups from Asia, Europe and the Americas. The award follows Tachyum’s recognition as a Red Herring Top 100 North America winner in June.

Red Herring 100 Awards are widely recognized as one of the industry’s more prestigious recognitions, with hundreds of candidates from each continent competing for a Top 100. Companies from each region are reviewed in a rigorous three-step process that looks at all aspects of the organization, with more than 20 criteria used to analyze those considered. This year’s Top 100 Global companies were announced by Alex Vieux, chairman of Red Herring, at an award ceremony at the conclusion of a recent two-day event.

Tachyum was recognized as a Red Herring Top 100 Global winner for its Prodigy Universal Processor Chip, the smallest and fastest general purpose, 64-core processor, requiring 10x less power and reducing server cost by 3x. Tachyum’s Prodigy reduces server cost and power needs through new proprietary software that has made many parts of the hardware found in a typical processor redundant. Shorter wires, due to a smaller core, translates into much greater speed for the processor. The ultra-low power Prodigy processor, will allow system integrators to build a 32 Exaflops AI supercomputer. This will enable users to simulate, in real-time, human brain-sized Neural Networks beginning in 2020, instead of 2028.

“While we didn’t develop Prodigy for the sake of winning awards, the continued recognition that we have received serves as validation that others see the value in what we are about to deliver,” said Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Co-founder and CEO of Tachyum.

“We are truly proud of Tachyum winning such a prestigious award. Since our initial investment, we have believed in Tachyum’s potential and the impact Prodigy can have globally. This kind of recognition is a significant milestone,” added Adrian Vycital, IPM Managing Partner and Tachyum’s Board Member.

“We are thankful to Red Herring for not only acknowledging our efforts by naming us among the top North American companies it evaluated but in extending that honor globally. We believe that what we are doing has great implications across a broad spectrum of markets and industries. Having our vision recognized by Red Herring and others encourages us to continue our pursuit of greatness,” concluded Danilak.
