Tachyum CEO Addresses Effective Use of QLC Flash in Hyperscale Datacenters at Flash Memory Summit 2018

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 31, 2018 – Dr. Radoslav Danilak, Co-founder and CEO of Silicon Valley startup Tachyum Inc., is part of the Invited Talks Track at Flash Memory Summit, presenting “Effective Use of QLC Flash in Hyperscale Datacenters” to attendees of the event at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California August 9 at 2:10 p.m.

A frequent presenter at technology trade shows around the world, Danilak has more than 25 years of industry experience and over 100 patents designing state-of-the-art processing systems. In his Flash Memory Summit presentation, Danilak will discuss the changes that need to be implemented to increase life-amplification of QLC flash in order to significantly reduce storage costs in hyperscale datacenters.

“While QLC flash is much denser and considerably less expensive than TLC flash, its endurance is far below what is necessary to consider its use within a datacenter-level storage architecture ideal,” said Danilak. “I look forward to sharing with attendees at Flash Memory Summit how changes in the way that data is written to QLC flash can increase its life expectancy and make it the more suitable choice for the most-demanding enterprise environments.”

Tachyum has achieved unprecedented compute performance and power efficiency for Data Center and AI applications to enable a new generation of Supercomputers with the introduction of its Prodigy Universal Processor Chip. Prodigy is the smallest and fastest general purpose, 64-bit processor, requiring 10x less power and reducing server cost by 3x. New proprietary software has made many parts of the hardware found in a typical processor redundant. Shorter wires, due to a smaller core, translates into much greater speed for the processor. The ultra-low power Prodigy processor, will allow system integrators to build a 32 Exaflops AI supercomputer. This will enable users to simulate, in real-time, human brain-sized Neural Networks beginning in 2020, instead of 2028.

Flash Memory Summit is the industry’s premier showcase for storage technologies, featuring the most exciting products and offers the broadest coverage of a rapidly expanding market. The 2017 event drew more than 6,000 registrants and 120 exhibitors. The conference also includes annual updates, market research sessions, performance testing results, an expert table session, and a VC Forum.
